How Goals Reduce Uncertainty, Provide Direction, and Make Work Engaging
In the dynamic environment of a dental practice, setting clear, role-specific goals and incentives is pivotal. By aligning individual responsibilities with overarching objectives, practices can foster a sense of purpose and direction among their staff. Role-specific goals act as clear markers of progress, helping staff understand how their daily contributions ladder up to the larger vision of the practice. Meanwhile, personalized incentives motivate each team member, tapping into their unique drivers, and promoting optimal productivity. When everyone knows their role, has clear targets, and is incentivized in a manner that resonates with them, the practice hums with coordinated energy and efficiency.
How do goals get set?
On the first of the month, TeamCare automatically generates a new set of goals for the upcoming month. Goal values are set based on TTM (or Trailing Three Month Average). This is a common rolling average method to generate fair & reasonable goals. It's based on this requirement that we wait until the first day of the month -- so that we can consider the previous full month's performance.
How do I change or update goals?

Navigating to Goal Settings:
- Go to 'Goals' on the left sidebar to view all monthly set at the practice-level and doctor-level goals.

Adjusting Monthly Goals:
- To tweak a monthly goal for the practice or a doctor, click the edit box next to the 'current goal value'.
- Input the new value for the Goal, then press submit. This adjustment will be reflected in all goal charts visible to the user for that month.

Customizing Working Days:
- To adjust working days, use the â ‡icon located in the top right corner of the Goals page. Tailoring the working days ensures that the practice's goals align perfectly with its operational schedule.
